Requests to Contact ASHG Members
ASHG members and the broader genetics community are involved in exciting research studies and scientific advances, taking place in universities, medical centers, industry, and other institutions. As a society, we are mindful of our role as a hub for such information, as well as our members’ and meeting attendees’ privacy and preferences for receiving information.
As such, we cannot accommodate every request to share information with ASHG members and/or meeting attendees, but will handle these requests on an individual basis. Please see the sections below for guidelines on how to submit your request.
Note: ASHG does not sell the email addresses of its members, meeting attendees, or other affiliates. However, third-party organizations can obtain individuals’ email addresses by searching public websites or scanning badges at scientific meetings.
Research Study Participation
Investigators interested in engaging ASHG members in research or accessing ASHG-related data are invited to submit a request to the ASHG leadership. Investigators who wish to submit a request must be current members of ASHG.
Proposals will be reviewed by leadership, who will ask for additional information as needed and inform the requestor once a decision is made. Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of:
- The topic’s relevance to ASHG priorities and its members
- Soundness, appropriateness, and feasibility of the methods proposed
- Relevance of researchers and funding source to the work proposed
- Thoughtfulness and acceptability of plans for distributing the findings
- Feasibility and burden of participation for members
If a research proposal is approved, the requestor is expected to work with ASHG staff to ensure implementation is undertaken in a manner consistent with other Society activities and priorities.
Marketing a Product, Service, or Event
Organizations and companies wishing to promote their products and services to ASHG members are invited to exhibit at the ASHG Annual Meeting, the world’s largest human genetics and genomics meeting. The ASHG Annual Meeting brings together all disciplines of human genetics and genomics, from bench to bedside and from around the world. There are several options for exhibitors to contact attendees. Find more information on the ASHG 2024 Annual Meeting pages.
Event organizers may wish to submit their event to ASHG’s Meetings and Events of Interest calendar. For guidance on promoting an Annual Meeting satellite or ancillary event, please see the satellite and ancillary event page.
Job Postings
Organizations and companies seeking to promote a job opportunity are invited to post the opening on the ASHG Career Center.
