Dear ASHG 2021 Attendee,
Thank you for purchasing continuing education credits for the American Society of Human Genetics 2021 Annual Meeting. We look forward to your participation and attendance. The ASHG Annual Meeting is a forum for the education of scientists in the field of genetics. By attending the meeting presentations, scientists (including genetic counselors, physicians and others) will receive both a broad overview of the field and information about the most recent, detailed research on the topic of the session and will better understand the basic science that underlies clinical practice. This meeting is targeted to physicians, research scientists, clinical and laboratory practitioners, and others interested in the field of human genetics. The program is varied so that participants may select from several concurrent sessions to find those that fit their specialized research interests and clinical practice applications.
As a reminder, we made several changes this year to make the claiming process easier. They include:
- The evaluation form has the same questions for each session
- No separate self-reporting form
- No quizzes required
- Complete session evaluations at the end of each day or all at once at the end of the week
- An overall meeting evaluation that is provided at the end to indicate you are finished completing surveys and are ready to claim credit
The deadline to complete the evaluations to receive your credits for CMEs and CEUs (P.A.C.E./NSGC) is 11:59 pm EST on December 1, 2021. No submissions will be taken after this deadline due to reporting deadlines to our accreditation provider.
Instructions to Claim Credits
At 7:00 pm EDT each day next week, the surveys for that day’s eligible sessions will appear. You can visit our accreditation website to view a list of sessions eligible for credits and further information. You will have access only to the credit type you purchased (CME, P.A.C.E., or NSGC). If you purchased more than one type of credit, separate evaluations must be completed for each.
| Step 1 | Access the application using your ASHG membership/website portal credentials.
Note: These are the same credentials you use to access the ASHG 2021 Virtual Meeting platform and join/renew your ASHG membership. |
| Step 2 | Once logged in to the website, look for the credit type you are applying for (CME, P.A.C.E., or NSGC) and click on it to begin. |
| Step 3 | Complete the surveys for each session you attended live during ASHG 2021. Credits are only available for content viewed live during the meeting this year (no on-demand credits will be available).
Note: Please only complete one survey for each set of Concurrent Sessions. You can only earn credit for one session per concurrent block. |
| Step 4 | After you finish this process for all sessions you attended live that offer credit, please complete the Overall Meeting Evaluation* to indicate you are finished claiming credit. |
| Step 5 | ASHG will send a link to your certificate of credit within ten days of submission of their Overall Meeting Evaluation after reviewing your surveys for completion. |
*Notes about the Overall Meeting Evaluation
- For NSGC Only – you will need your NSGC ID to begin.
- For PACE Only – you will need your ASCLS # and License #
- Only complete the Overall Meeting Evaluation once you have finished completing your individual session surveys and are ready to receive your certificate.
- Completion of the Overall Meeting Evaluation is required to finalize the credit claiming process.

The final day to claim credits for ASHG 2021 is 11:59 pm EST on December 1, 2021. Within 10 days of submission of your Overall Meeting Evaluation, ASHG will provide a link to print your certificate.

Accreditation & Credits
The ASHG 2021 Annual Meeting has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG). PIM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. PIM designates this other (virtual events) activity for a maximum of 18.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
P.A.C.E.® Accreditation Statement
Postgraduate Institute for Medicine has been approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program. This program is approved for up to 16.50 ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® contact hours. Sessions must be attended live to receive P.A.C.E. credit.
