ASHG Welcomes Kelly Ventura as Senior Director of Education and Membership

BETHESDA, MD – The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) is pleased to announce that Kelly Ventura, MHA, joined the organization this month as Senior Director of Education and Membership. In this capacity, Ms. Ventura will work with ASHG staff, committees, and board leadership to drive strategies and programs that connect ASHG’s public and field-facing educational programming and a growing array of field-facing education programs with the Society’s growing commitment to create and communicate the value of membership.

“We are very excited to welcome Kelly as ASHG advances its many excellent programs and builds on them to serve members in new ways,” said Mona Miller, executive director of ASHG. “Kelly has deep membership and association expertise, as well as a passion for helping societies in their educational and membership goals. She also brings substantial experience with and appreciation for membership organizations focused on health and research topics.”

“I look forward to partnering with ASHG’s dedicated staff and member leaders to create a stronger member experience through enhanced engagement opportunities, educational offerings, and community building,” said Ms. Ventura.

Ms. Ventura was most recently Senior Director of Member Strategy at the American College of Cardiology (ACC), a society for cardiovascular professionals of all types, and previously worked on ACC’s development and member segment efforts. Prior to her 15 years at ACC, she served as a grant review administrator at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, and earned a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland University College. She serves on the Leadership Committee of the American Association of Medical Society Executives and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives
